What does it mean if hair starts to fall out in more heavy clumps than just single strands?
Can this just be stress - or thyroid problem maybe?
My thyroid blood test came out fine a few years ago but I didn’t trust they got to the bottom of it. I have other symptoms of underactive thyroid too.

Hello Carmen: Hair that falls in this manner is a sign that the body has recently gone out of balance. Any time the body experiences a change, disturbance or imbalance in which it has a difficult time dealing with, the hair growth cycle can become disrupted. More hairs than usual retreat to the resting (telogen) phase where they will be shed 1-3 months later. It may be helpful to think back to the months preceding the hair loss for clues. Even a minor disturbance can cause this reaction. Some common causes include vaccination-including flu shot, infection, medication. medical procedure, extreme stress, illness, extreme dieting, low ferritin/iron levels. etc.
I lost most of my hair from this condition when I was 32 years old. I was able to regrow my hair using essential oil treatments which I blended myself. You can learn more about the types and causes of female hair loss and about using essential oils for hair loss at the links below. I have included a link to my story which was published in Natural health Magazine.
