Under active Thyroid simply means that your thyroid doesn’t produce enough hormone to keep up with your body needs. I am not sure if it is a genetic thing however, if you suspect you have hypothyroidism (under active Thyroid) then you should have it checked out. It is just a simple blood test. The treatment for it is simply to take thyroid hormone, which is just one pill a day you have to take and it is relatively inexpensive.
ask urself if u have following symptoms—
loss of appetite.
increased wt.
intolerance to cold.
lethargy, nervousness.
change in voice..
constipation.
relatively cold calm extremeties even in warm environment
decreased libido..
if u r having 3 or 4 of above mentioned symptoms better do lab test for t3 t4 tsh
