The Root Causes & Symptoms Of Thyroid Imbalance.
Please enlighten my mind about this two type solution for thyroid disease, maybe if there’s no hope for short medication with my thyroid problem i chose Radioactive treatment.
I was diafnosed with underactive thyroid and quite a bad case of it, 2 of my aunts have it so I guess its genetically and it got so bad for one of my aunts that her voice deepened and she had to have the gland in her neck removed.
around march 2009 I started to feel weird, like I would walk 6 steps and I would get out of breathe, I would feel weak like if I wrote 2 lines of work from pen to paper my arm would ache, my joins were just so sore, my throat was always sore and my voice started to deepen and its like nothing cured my throat, I gained 30 pounds and my diet didn’t changed,my fingernails were soo brittle and thin and refused to grow, I was missing periods and when I did get them they were 10 days later and superr heavy, I always was catching flus I got one at least once a month, I was always tired and my muscles felt so weak, I use no products in my hair, and never ever use straighteners or curlers or blow dryers and my hair was soooooooooooooooo dry and fell out 24.7, i was losing hair daily and it was like dry straw. and my hands and feet began to become swollen, I looked up at these symptoms and it sounded like underactive thyroid so I had blood work done and it showed I had underactive thyroid and I’m starting medication tomorrow.. but these symptoms are soo hard to live with….
I am just wondering once I go on my pills will all these symptoms go away once I start my pills.. and the random 32 pounds I gained for no reason will that go away cause the doctor said that this did cause me to gain weight as it slowed down my metabolism..
I really am desperate for answers, they will help me so much.
Thank you and God bless.
www.purewaterfreedom.com A news report about the dangers of water fluoridation. According to the US National Research Council, “several lines of information indicate an effect of fluoride exposure on thyroid function” - particularly among individuals with an iodine deficiency. Fluoride’s potential to impair thyroid function is most clearly illustrated by the fact that — up until the 1970s — European doctors used fluoride as a thyroid-suppressing medication for patients with hyperthyroidism (over-active thyroid). Fluoride was utilized because it was found effective at reducing the activity of the thyroid gland - even at doses as low as 2 mg/day. Today, many people living in fluoridated communities are ingesting doses of fluoride (1.6-6.6 mg/day) that fall within the range of doses (2 to 10 mg/day) once used by doctors to reduce thyroid activity in hyperthyroid patients. This is of particular concern considering the widespread problem of hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid) in the United States. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include obesity, lethargy, depression, and heart disease. Protect yourself from poison tap water
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about a year and a half ago. I have since been trying to find a stable dose of synthyroid with my endocrinologist. He believes that the 100 mg dose I am on now may be suffienct. I only have to see him twice a year now, instead of blood work every 6 weeks and an office visit every three months. I still don’t feel like my old self. I will admit that I feel about 80% better than I did, but the feelings of anxiety and depression are still lingering, worse sometimes than others. I am looking for your experineces with the illness, how you coped with it all, and how long after you were stable on your medication that you felt like your old self again. I have thought this whole time that something more serious is wrong with me, only my doctors can’t find out what it is. Did any of you feel this way? Thanks for the help.
I have hypothyroidism and have fairly high hormone levels, which my naturopath has told me will make it difficult, if not impossible to conceive. Has anyone here conceived with hypothyroidism?
I should add: I am not on thyroid medication, other than natural treatments.
**Naturopathic medicine (also known as naturopathy, or natural medicine) is a complementary and alternative medicine which emphasizes the body’s intrinsic ability to heal and maintain itself. Naturopaths prefer to use natural remedies such as herbs and foods rather than surgery or synthetic drugs.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 17. My thyroid function is "normal" or at least that’s what the doctor says. I’ve been taking levothyroxine for as long as I’ve been diagnosed. I’m 22 now and even thought I’m taking the medication, I’m still having symptoms: Hair loss, Intolerance to cold and of course, weight loss. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can lose weight with Hypothyroidism?
I’m 14 and I went to the doctor because my hair is thinning. they took my blood and when the results came in they said I have an underactive thyroid. what are other symptoms of an underactive thyroid other than hair loss? i weigh 97-100 lbs..so i’m not overweight.
the doctor called in a prescription for me. how long am i going to have to stay on this medication?? will i have to stay on it for life??
thanks!
I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and take medication to control it. I am having other symptoms and am wondering if I may have hyperparathyroidism. Is there a correlation between the two?
