Very helpfull and worth watching for anyone who thinks that they might have thyroid problems.
One of the best interviews I have heard about thyroid disorders in a long time. Robyn your sensitivity on the conditions is truly appreciated. Your explanations were clear and I look forward to my next doctors visit for some dialogue. Thank you
Encouraging to see such a critical subject as thyroid disorders given public broadcast, especially national television. The interview is well conducted to offer good information to the viewer. I will be purchasing the book. Recommended viewing

They took 2 years to diagnose my hypothyroidism - I was presenting with severe muscle problems. Eventually when I was 4 stones overweight, had a face like a moon and thought my life was over - a doctor took one look at me and knew immmediately. Thyroxine does NOT bring you back to where you were before your thyroid died. You do feel better. No I DONT eat like a pig but I cannot lose any more weight - still 2 stones overweight.
was diagnosed bi-polar depressive 1988, was placed in psychward for 1 1/2 years, dosed with 120mg of prozac. After insurance ran out (1 year) my family paid out of pocket. One day my doctor said. Hey- maybe your hypothyroid, go see a physician. Most expensive diagnosis ever.
Synthroid has never worked for me. I have just today switched to Armor. My life has been like the book Flowers For Algernon over and over again. I thought it was just me, thought I was just that way. Thanks to all who are educating!
Well, first perhaps you are in the right TSH “range” but the range is huge - .4 to 2.5 is normal, about 1.5 is average. So if you are at 2.5 (keeping in mind that the target is 2.0) but that isn’t the right target for you. Also, some people say - though there is no evidence - that armour works better for them.
Placebo is the cure for all disease.
What are you trying to say here??? That thyroid tablets are placebos?
It is a teensy magical pill that will bring you back to life”
Not always that simple, some have adrenal problems which interfere with thyroid hormones at cellular level, some have impaired convertion of T4 to T3 the active hormone. There are a lot of research journals out there worth reading. Meantme worth trying ‘one of’ the TH replacements, if it doesn’t work try another and do an adrenal saliva test.
Note she said ’she didn’t respond to standard treatment and needed a combination of hormones’ , watch with mainstream TV they tend to try to skim over the fact we often need combination therapy.
This book is fantastic. I found a GP/Naturopath who listens and doesn’t think it’s all in my head. I was diagnosed with Fibro initially by a Rheumatologist (waste of money as it seems to be a symptom of this!). The foreward on this book is written by a Dr Robert Hanner in Brighton VIC (Robyn Koumourou’s Doctor). I googled him and found a link to a GP nearby who specialises in this and combines Naturopathic medicine with traditional.
I was diagnosed with depression in 1977..I was placed in a psych ward for 3 months until the insurance ran out. i was 15 at the time. Angry, alone, anxiety attacks. I wish i was tested at the time for Thyroid. I was tested at age 35 andf had hyperthyroidism. had the radio active iodine drink and destroyed my thyroid..Now its hypo and take levoxthyrine everyday.
I had blood work yesterday. I have had a thyroid problem for 15 years.Yesterday it came back a 7. Dr said very high so he has to adjust the dosage again..I am always hot and sweat. moon face and can not loose weight. Never had a weight problem. This stinks!!!! Anyone else having this problem?
Very informative video. I was fortunate to be diagnosed quickly with Hashimoto’s disease through thyroid antibodies bloodtest. I had severe fatigue, exhaustion, dry/gritty eyes, brain fog, lacked concentration and focus, muscle weakness and pain, lightheaded and dizzy. Add to all that depression and the occasional Hashitoxicosis anxiety, nervousness and trembling hands…I was a mess. Starting to feel better with alternating 50mcg/75mcg levothyroxine.

People are affected by this because of the fluoride in the water..! Get off tap water and take tyrosine and iodine supplements & change diet.. Supplementation is essential.. I had hypothyroid and this company changed my life and can do the same for you..
