Yes, I had Graves Disease, which is an overactive thyroid giving signs of underactive. Ironic, no?
I had to have my thyroid destroyed by radioactive iodine and now that we have the proper dose of Synthroid, I’m doing much better. I hope yours can be treated with medicine and not having to lose your thyroid.
Best wishes. Listen to your doctor, please.
My cousin has and under-active thyroid also and she has all the same symptoms too. But with medication she is doing much better..
Dr. Julian Whitaker is a quack and snake-oil peddler. Do not be fooled by the above poster.
Synthroid is not used to mask symptoms; it replaces hormones your body is not producing, or producing in low numbers. That is but one of many lies or misinformation she posted.
For a look at Whitaker’s nonsense, see the link below.
A caveat regarding all snake-oil proponents: What they conveniently overlook is anything that passes clinical trials and is effective medicine is incorporated into western medicine.
Please don’t harm yourself via impossible claims. The placebo effect is well-known and even used in medicine for phantom pains. But a low thyroid is nothing to use for personal experimentation.
