Hypothyroidism?
I want to know if anybody here was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and didnt use recreational drugs at parties but developed the disease naturally as I recently got some bad news….Basically I found out a friend who also went to parties has developed multiple sclerosis and I forgot I had hypothyroidism for a while but now I am feeling so bad……
Pls could u give me some info….I dont do parties drugs now I really regret and am so afraid for my future as I already have hypothyroidism and I know that all drugs affect the nervous system which can cause disease…

Yes I have Hypothyroidism and it is no big deal. You take one little pill once a day and it makes you as normal as anybody else. The pills are cheap and there are no side effects because the pills contain a natural hormone. Hypothyroidism runs in families. My great Aunt is 98 and she has been taking the little pills for 40 years without obviously any ill effects.
Hypothyroidism isn’t a nervous system problem. It’s a problem with the endocrine system.
See your doctor, take your medicine, and you’ll be fine.
if you know ya have it then your doc should be monitoring you and be on synthyroid or something like it. Lots of people develop it naturally but using drugs doesn’t help. Fatigue is big symptom. Expect to be on theraputic drug for a long time.

its not related ,at all,hypothyroidism is a state where your body immune system destroys the thyroid gland in the front of your neck ,u become lethargic,gain weight,sleep a lot,and slow pulse ,some tests and scanning diagnose it and make sure its a benign form ,and treatment is easy a normal thyroxine tablet replacement daily which has no side effects
Calm down there kiddo. Hypothyroidism is one of the most common and treatable ailments in women.
I’ve had it for years. You take your synthroid or levoxyl, you get your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) test done once or twice a year. Adjust the dosage as needed, and feel much better and more energized in a few weeks time.
The recreational drug use is a different issue entirely. Talk to your doctor about this honestly. Share your concerns and I’m sure he’ll have some reassuring words for you also.
No worries, just take the medication every day like clockwork and you’ll be right as rain in no time.

My mum had hypothyroidism and never touched anything stronger than aspirin all her life.
So you know, but of these diseases are autoimmune– basically, both you and your friend were "wired’ if you will for it. Nothing to do with parties, and not something you can catch.
I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which caused my hypothyroidism. Just cruddy genetics. I know how groggy and slow it feels to be un/undertreated for this– but it’s slow going, finding the dose of meds that will work for you.
Your thyroid condition has nothing to do with your past partying. Being hypothyroid is caused from high antibodies that build up an attack the thyroid, too much or too little iodine, too much soy, too much fluoride, possibly something in processed food and sometimes no one knows. I’m hypothyroid too and I never drank or took drugs. I dont have the antibodies either. I’m guessing I became hypothyroid because of something in our food, but who really knows.
If you are feeling bad, then you either aren’t on enough thyroid medication or you are on the wrong thyroid medication. Most people are on T4 like Synthroid or Levoxyl. For those people the morning TSH needs to be around 1.0. If that doesn’t help, then its possible you aren’t converting the T4 into T3 and may need a med that’s both T4 and T3 like Armour.
Lots of us have developed hypothyroidism without doing drugs.
