I have every single symptom to an underactive thyroid, i was feeling terrible one day so i went for a blood test, it showed i had an underactive thyroid.. ok i thought that was good cause i found out the answers to my problems…

so before i could start pills for it the doctor wanted to be sure i had it and made me have another blood test, it came back as - negative -

a month later, i went for another blood test, and again, negative…….

i know i have this illness, it showed up once, its there..
i started a vitamin called kelp. would that help it? (about kelp - Kelp is a rich source of Iodine. Iodine is readily absorbed and transported via the bloodstream to the thyroid gland, where it is used by the body to make the hormone Thyroxine which is involved in the regulation of the metabolism)

i had a blood test and the results came back as i had an underactive thyroid glands
the docotrs gave me some tablets but i never take them
i had enougher blood test six weeks after the first one
and the results came back that they was back to normal and my doctor said that i should still take my tablets
the thing is i never took the tablets.. so how have they gone back to normal
do u think my doctor misread the first blood test!!

I am just diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am reading all the books but would like to hear about real results people are getting on any holistic treatments like yoga, herbs, etc (in addition to thyroid meds of course). In 2002 i had my thyroid checked and it was 5.78, then in 2004 it was 2.28 and in 2005 it was 1.78.

I now have every symptom of a underactive thyroid. I am so tired i can’t get through the day with at least 2 naps. Just walking a short distance my pulse races and i feel really weak & tired. I am cold, hands & feet are cold and numb,constipation, barely have had a period in 1 1/2 yrs, forgetting things, trouble speaking, puffy eyelids and alot of face swelling & pressure, sore knee joints. I just feel BAD like i just can’t even get through each day. Is it normal for my TSH level to drop each year? I am getting really worried.

Can this just be stress - or thyroid problem maybe?
My thyroid blood test came out fine a few years ago but I didn’t trust they got to the bottom of it. I have other symptoms of underactive thyroid too.

The vet wants to run a full blood panel on my dog (nine years old) to see if there is an underlying cause of her newly diagnosed hypothyroidism. Does anyone know what some of the more likely culprits are?

i am 15 and have an underactive thyroid, but iv been told that you are supposed to gain weight.
i am 5 foot 5 and 7 stone, which isnt very heavy why am i not heavy if i have an underactive thyroid gland?? help appreciated x

I was informed of the problem when I was in the hospital for an unrelated injury and they ran some blood tests. This was over a year ago and I have demonstrated all of the symptoms of an under active thyroid over this past year. I am going to take levothyroxine sodium to combat the problem, however, I have no idea what to base the dosage amount on. Should I use weight, BMI, or something else? Thanks.

Normal levels are between .7 - 1.9 for free t4, and I am at a .7. Low, but not low enough to catch a doctors eye, even though I am having all the symptoms of an underactive thyroid. I am on Levothroid right now. My TSH test came back at 1.5, very normal.
